Bolton Abbey in North Yorkshire is somewhere that I’ve visited on many times as both a child and as an adult. It’s a fantastic spot for a family day out: to walk, to pic-nic and to explore. There’s the Priory to explore, miles of footpaths to walk and the river to paddle in (weather permitting!).
In 2019 I completed a Summer Solstice 10k run along the river bank that started and finished at Bolton Abbey. It was such a lovely evening run that headed in the direction of Burnsall, over the bridge and then back to the Abbey…and the medal I received was pretty nice too!
